I've used that same camera and lens for a number of astrophotography shots and it is a great combination. If you use video than you can get a lot of shots to stack with freeware programs like autostakkert, although you will need to convert the .mov to either .ser or .avi for that program to stack the images. I used the program PIPP (Planetary Image PreProcessing) for the conversion and is also freeware last time I looked.
