Can anyone help me with this one! I have a Fairfax Elevator tripod, forty years plus old, very solid & sturdy, weight, not much more than the newer ones found today. But it lacks the snap off-on feature, I have to screw the camera onto the tripod, is there connector that can be screwed to the tripod that has a snap off- on feature? Thanks, Canuck

You got the perfect answer with the reference to Manfrotto. It's a standard brand available everywhere. I have the mounting plate on each of my tripods/monopods, and each camera has a matching QR plate always attached. I can snap any camera onto any tripod without searching for bits and pieces.

Check out Really Right Stuff ball heads & a "L" bracket for your camera. I use a BH40

I wish someone made a rubber boot that would slip on over the Manfrotto plates to give more stability and scratch protection when it's set down .
