4 moons +

Not your typical Moon shot.
This is Jupiter with only four of its moons.
Canon R6, Canon 2xIII extender, Tamron 150-600mm G2, ISO 640, f9, 1/8 sec
You have to overexpose Jupiter to get the moons to show up.

This morning.

Nice image. And your right, it's hard to get the moons to show up with the planet. Do you know which one is which?

I'm thinking top to bottom: Europa, Io, Ganymede and Callisto. It was 5:51 this morning.

From the top working down. Io is the closest one then there is Europa and Ganymede (which is the largest of the 4) and Callisto

You can also tell which one is Ganymede as it is the brightest one of the 4 moons.

Close but you have Europa and Io mixed up. It is Io and then Europa, Io orbits Jupiter the closest of the 4 moons.

Still it is a great shot of Jupiter and her 4 Galilean Moons
Just thank of what Galileo must of though when he first viewed them in 1610

Did you know in 2021 and 2022 Dr. Scott Sheppard discovered 12 new moons orbiting Jupiter bringing the total number of moons to 92. But Saturn still reins King with a total of 145 moons.

At first i thought I was wrong about Io and Europa, but when I ran a hour by hour timeline on my Mobile Observatory Pro app, it indeed showed Europa was coming around the backside of Jupiter, making it seem closer to the planet. I started the timeline at 5:45am, about the time I took the shot.
The last count I knew about was 70+ for Jupiter and a similar number for Saturn. Wow, The last time I saw that many Moons, was at Lake Havasu City Arizona during Spring Break.

Nice capture of Jupiter's Galilean moons all lined up.
