Thank you very much. the lens rating chart will be a very big help.
If budget is your major determining factor, they yes get the cheaper A6600.
If you want a camera with better and more advanced features that you can use for years to come, IMHO get the A6700.
My philosophy which has worked for me in my 50 years as a pro in this business, get the BEST gear you can afford. And that is not always the cheapest gear or the more expensive gear.
Since moving over from decades of using Nikon, Canon and Leica gear to Sony, I have owned, used and loved making images with my Sony A6500, A7RII, A7RIII, A7III, A9, A7RIV and current A7RV, A1, A7SIII. And I currently have 13 E-mount lenses covering 10mm to 600mm from Sony, Sigma, Tamron, Viltrox.
Cheers and best to you.

I'm thinking about it. Just not sure the new features are that important to me, Even the 6600 is a big jump. I now use a NEX-6, which I really like.

If you like the NEX 6, you will love the A6600. I made that change a couple of years ago and am thrilled with what that camera will do. For me, the biggest factors were image stabilization and the ability to use my legacy glass with an adapter without too many hang ups in focusing. You may wish to rent one to see if it works for you.

Use what works for you and your budget, and be happy.
Cheers and best to you.

TRUE. I see a deal on a like new 6600 at MPB that looks almost too good to resist. $844. A big drop from it's $1300
new price.
I will say that I've had nothing but superlative results buying from (and selling to/trading with) MPB.

I second that.
Cheers and all the best to you Nortfish, have a great trip.
Based on the collective input from all of you, I bought an 18-135 from KEH. It came yesterday and i promptly took it out and did some comparative shooting with it. I took a serious of shots using my 16-60 and 70-210.
Conclusion: 1) The relative IQ of all lenses was similar. 2) The loss of 2mm(16 vs. 18) was negligible.3) At 100% on my monitor the 18-135 at 135( effective 200) seemed a tiny bit sharper. At 18 vs 16 my kit lens did great.
Bottom line. I'm keeping the new lens since the images are close but not having to change lenses is a major win.
I think I will order the 6600 and try it out against my NEX. Thanks to all of you for your help.
