From the Branson Farm and Auto Museum in November 2020. Done using the cutout, photocopy and plastic wrap filters in the filter gallery, the background is one I made for this. Multiple texture, overlay, brush layers, and adjustment layers. All elements are from my library, with no AI elements or tools used. I'll include the original jpg from 2020 also. Thought I'd share.

If you would like, please click on the picture, doing so will link you to the gallery page where the shot can be seen in higher resolution and full page. Thanks for viewing and Have A Blessed Day !!!

Apart from the crop, which I find a bit tight, I like this Dave. I reckon you have the skills to conjure the bit that’s missing at the back, then you could reduce the cut-out size and give it a little more room on the lovely background - really like that. I also like the way you’ve retained the essential highlights whilst painting the bodywork. You’re getting good at the painting stuff!

Thank You Dave, crop is a bit tight, done in 16:10 aspect, original 2x3. hadn't thought about expanding the canvas. I'm enjoying the learning process, also having fun making backgrounds. Pleased you enjoyed it !!!

So many significant modifications that you have made to the original picture just amazes me.

I too would like to see the background expanded a bit. The background is richly colored and interesting - as have been all you recently created. I like this painting result.

You could just pick up all the layers of the car image and reduce the size keeping the same aspect ratio of the canvas? Even if it’s flattened, the Object Selection tool is so good it takes but a moment (I’m assuming the background is saved on its own anyway, so you can just drop a copy of the selection on it). It would be interesting to see what sort of job Generative Fill would make of the rear of the car.

Hi! I like the way you were able to keep the car's shine...and the background is stunning!

As a follow up, looking back at the PSB, it's not doable with this file. Initially I selected the subject, saved that selection as a channel, inversed it and saved that, loaded the selection and added then blended several textures and adjustments, then flattened them. All of the various filters for the effect were then run on that file as a whole. then using the selection and background masks multiple other brush and adjustment layers, and others were added, so no one combined background layer exists. While selecting and shrinking the subject is certainly doable, making everything mate back up would be a daunting task ( the PSB file with everything is a 5.09 GB file ).

I certainly appreciate your interest and assistance, but once again I've learned the hard way I should do it right the first time. Thanks Again Dave, I appreciate it !!!

Or not go flattening too soon Dave! Nevertheless, there is a way - in comes AI!! First let Object Selection make a selection of the car, hit Ctr/J and it’s on its own layer. Choose (right click) Duplicate Layer and save to new file. Now make a copy of the original combined file and ask Generative Fill to cover the whole thing with the background effect. It will probably make a job of it. Alternative might be to cut out the car area roughly and use Content Aware Fill. One of them should work well enough. Make the new background layer a Special Object then risk enlarging the canvas and Free Transform the background to fit. Drop the two together and it just leaves that back end of the car to sort. Might be worth a try?
