I have the Epson V850 scanner. I don't use it very much, and in between sessions I forget how to do stuff. I have Vuescan, but it's expired (it's the one that came with the scanner), and they want $$ to renew it. I didn't use it anyway. I use the Epson program in the "pro" mode. I recall the last time I used it there was a section on where to put the scanned image, and I could set that and also give the image a title. Now I don't seem to have that capability. Can someone tell me how to get that back?

my 800 is 1100 mi away but look for settings and you may have to navigate to your chosen folder to save it - also when scanning usually previous settings are retained - by now there must be updated free software from epson

That's actually what it is doing - putting them where the previous scans went. But that's not where I want them. Before I was able to point to where I wanted them. Now that isn't even a possibility. I don't get any notice that the software has an update.

I'm going to upload the detailed user manual. It is a .pdf. Just click on Download. Look at pages 68-70. The information is there. You might want to save this to your computer.

The scanned image should be on the scanner glass, no? ;)

Ok the thing is I can't tell you how the program works. But I suggest you use the computer OS to find those scanned images. Then you can copy a shortcut to the desktop to easily access the scanned image, and move them to a new permanent location.

I'm scanning slides. I have a separate hard drive for scans and I want them to go directly there as I was able to do before. Yes, I can move them, but that's another step. Since these are very large files, that takes quite awile.

My Epson 650 is set to default to store the image in the root "Pictures" folder and notes the file name. I take it from there.

Yes, but I used to be able to direct them. Now I cannot. That's my issue.

My 650 menu offers a choice in the step (screen) before I scan

So did mine. But now it doesn't. That's my problem. I want to get that possibility back!

On my Epson V750 which should be similar.
In the scan setup box it will show where the scans go. I select the browse box and then go to the folder I want it to go to directly
My windows computer usually sends to photos or downloads shown on the left of the start screen showing all the folders.

See, that's my problem. It doesn't tell that! That little portion of the box is missing and I don't know how to get it back!
