Meet Up at Louis Ginter Gardens

My wife and I are on the way to Texas to see the G-son play his senior year of football before moving on to college ball. Dave Randolph, for years has been inviting me to tour Ginter Gardens in Richmond, VA. Today it finally happened! We stopped and Dave graciously took the time to give us a guided tour. What a beautiful place as evidenced by the many photos he has posted here on the forum. Very overcast so no dragons were flying. If you are ever in the area it is worth the time. Here is our photo after the tour.

Thanks again Dave!

It was a wonderful time. You’d have a tough time finding a nicer guy!

Had a wonderful walk and talk with you and your wonderful wife, Doc. We'll have to do it again when the bugs are flying! Will post a few of my shots from yesterday once I download them.

Once you've seen the Ginter Gardens, if you are there in the spingtime, drive on down to Colonial Williamsburg whose gardens in the restored houses in the spring are a riot of color, then head down to the Azlea Gardens in Norfolk. That trio will wear out your camera taking images.

Oh don't I know it Mike. I just wish it had been earlier in the season to see everything in bloom. Still a wonderful time with a wonderful guide.

That sounds like a road trip for next Spring. I spend most of my time at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. We are planning to visit a few in the Austin area this month.

Meet-ups are always fun. I once belonged to a group of women over 50 who still rode horses. 33 of us. We all met somewhere every summer. Many of us were over 70. Needless to say it was a blast!!! Always goo to have new "in-person" friends.
