The hike to Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park begins from the Trail of the Cedars Trailhead, located 5.5 miles east of the Lake McDonald Lodge, with a round trip hike of 4.5 miles round trip... with a trail difficulty rating: 5.96 (moderate) I'm really feeling it this morning. I had to wait for this bucket list hike, as I don't hike alone in GNP.

Yes, Do not hike alone... At 5:00 Pm looking out the 2nd. floor window of Many Glacier lodge we watched the grizzlies crossing the hillside across the lake... Just little day hikes around the lake etc... kept me on my toes... Your pics are outrageous... I am envious.
Mr Bob thank you so much.
Smart to have someone else along. A beautiful photo.
I have photographed Avalanche Lake and the trail to it a number of times, and I never cease to be amazed at the beauty and majesty surrounding that particular lake. And we see bears, moose, deer, and all sorts of wildlife there as well. As you correctly mentioned, the hike is well worth it even if you need a little bit of ibuprofen afterwards! :-)

It was SO cool because it had a " Retro " look to it and not a 21st. century modernization... You were very fortunate to work for the NPS up there... I am envious.
Nicely captured panoramic view. Thanks for sharing.
