Ascot in the UK, and the Kentucky Derby has, besides horses, another thing in common...outrageous ladies hats that typically are worn tilted to one side of the head. Well, my wife (first picture) was invited to a Business Ladies Tea and each attendee was asked to wear such a hat. My wife is not a business lady, and has never worn such a hat before...but just to adhere to the "When In Rome..." notion, she ordered this one from Amazon.
Photo was taken with Nikon Z5 (NEF - RAW) at F11, and edited in Luminar Neo to blur the background using
"Portrait Bokeh AI."

Your wife would look good in any kind of hat. Great shot of a very pretty lady. And I’m a connoisseur of good loopy women with a wife, two daughters, 3 granddaughters plus a grandson’s wife and two great granddaughters, one of whom was born last Monday.

Feom an old Lexington and Louisville native, nice work is on order.

Congrats on your new great granddaughter.
Like the bumper sticker which says: "Having grandchildren is so much fun, I should have had them first."

We live in Lexington, KY, and those hats are well-known here. Our local Keeneland race track closes the week before the Kentucky Derby, but opens on Derby day for remote betting and social gatherings, and the hats are everywhere on those days.

I have wondered why the hat thing is so popular and with the British family too. They wear them on the side. To me it always looked silly. However your wife is lovely, lucky guy.
