Upon the suggestion of several very helpful members, I decided to purchase a new lens. While it's not the top of the line, it's what I can justify at this photography stage. "Trialing," a Sigma 150 mm-600 mm. I will return it and purchase it from a camera store if it's the right fit. While it's a big step up from my Canon 75mm- 300mm, which always had issues, it's more manageable than expected. One big problem is that it won't fit in my backpack. Actually, I am also considering the Sigma 100mm-400 lens as that might be more practical. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.
So, since one member suggested these were post-worthy, I decided to share. I have not made a home run yet, but someone suggested I am beginning to round second base, so I feel encouraged that I am finally making some progress on this journey!
These are some of my first images with the new lens. Just basic editing with free stuff. I will tackle editing once I resolve a few issues with understanding my new camera. This cute little guy was content to work with me. The squirrels have been slightly off lately, so this was a nice treat.
Hope you enjoy.
Re: BAchme: The squirrel images are terrific. Thus, the Sigma 150-600 appears to be a great lens. But you didn't mention which camera you used. Conratulations. Davidb1879.

Nice shots! I have a Sigma 150 - 600 mm Sport lens. I've had good luck with it but I've had surgery on both shoulders so it's sometimes a struggle. I do use it for night sky photography with good results. Good luck!

Sorry about that. I just a while back upgraded to a Canon 90 D.
Thanks for the kind words!

I agree. I think they are working me! They act like they can't find the nut knowing I'm a sucker and that I'll throw another and later, I see them running off with them.
They bring me joy, so it's OK.
