Anyone have the dual battery charger for the Fuji X-T4?

I have the FujiFilm brand charger for the X-T4 and I’m using OEM batteries. It will only charge one battery. My understanding is that it should charge one battery at a time, not both at once, but once the first battery is charged, it should switch over to the second one. It is not doing that. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks,

Ben

I don’t have the Fuji charger, so can’t address your issue directly, but if you don’t find it satisfactory in the long run, my local dealer suggested a Cube2 Pro dual charger when I bought my X-T4. As I recall, it’s about $10 more than the Fuji charger but will charge either 2 Fuji or 4 AA Eneloops simultaneously, has a real time digital readout of charge % of each battery, has a quick charge mode and can be powered by either AC or 12VDC.

I have the Fuji charger for my X-T4. It chargers both batteries simultaneously with no problems. I use only OEM batteries. Never had a problem. I use the special plug that came with it. I have heard of problems if you use a different plug.

Thank you. By the special plug, are you talking about the USB cable or what you actually plug into the wall (I do not recall getting a wall wart, just the cable, but I will double check the box).

If your wall wart is below the optimum output that could possibly explain why youre charging sequentially instead of simutaneously with two batteries in place. Not every wart is limited to only 5 volts. Those offering more output have automatic voltage switching.

I checked B&H and Fuji and neither of them show a picture of the included wall wart. But, it did come with one. There was the actual charger, the cable and the wall wart (I've never heard that term) in the box.

I'm using a 20w Apple wall wart. That should be adequate, shouldn't it?

Good to know—thank you!

I use only fuji batteries and have had no problem with the charger. It charges two batteries with no issues.

I think I will send this one back to B&H. They already gave me an RMA.

Right answer. BTW, how are you liking your X-T4? I traded my X-T2 up for one recently for the IBIS and longer battery life and really like it. Also the battery grip is substantially lighter than the X-T2 one which I thought was inordinately heavy, even without batteries.

I'm loving the T4. It has replaced the T3 as my favorite camera.

I have a dual charger for the X-T30, and it will charge one at a time or two simultaneously. As a matter of fact, all my dual charges charge both at the same time.

Wattage is not voltage.

You may have a 4 amp wart thaz only 5 volts. Acoarst I dont know what voltage the charger needs for optimum performance.

I do know that my new phone needs more voltage than the old one, but uses the same cable. The new phone will charge but slowly on a generic 5 volt wart.

To a charger, a battery appears as a resistor. Voltage is what pushes against resistance.

Amperage is how much current will flow limited by the voltage thaz applied vs the resistance of the device. Wattage is just a summary figure (volts x amps).
