Has anyone had experience with some of the wireless remotes for use with the Canon R7? What was good and bad about them? Thank You
I have a Vello FreeWave Plus (from B&H) for my T1i. Works nicely but I don't use it a lot.
Newer version may work with the R7.?.
I would imagine Canon has an app that lets you use your cell as a remote.

Canon does on the R-5 and R6 for sure, I do use it.
the Canon Connect app works with the R7 as well-and it does work well.
The Canon BR-E1 works well with the R5 and is relatively inexpensive at $45. Works via Bluetooth so does not require line-of-sight. Operating range is 16 feet. The R7 is listed among compatible cameras.

I just now fired my R7 with the cell phone in Remote Liveview Shooting, Bluetooth
Remote Controller, Auto Transfer and Images on Camera.
All worked perfectly with no issues at all and immediately.
Additionally just did the location information being put into the photo from the cellphone.
I have not used a dedicated remote as the cellphone is already good and I can see what the camera is seeing.
Hope this helps.

I have the BR-E1, which is far better than previous Canon wireless remote. I carry it on a chain around my neck and it works great.

NOt a problem And no snarky remarks to boot
Canon BR-E1. I have one for my R7 and one for my R5. Needed two because it is a Bluetooth one-to-one pairing. I have them on a carabiner hooked to my tripod. Never leave home without them. Just need to remember to set the camera to the 2-second shutter setting for them to function. That doesn't mean the remote won't fire the shutter for 2-seconds, it just needs to be in that setting to connect.
