Yes, Lie Seeker, the NYPD cut their overtime budget.
What the article does not tell you is that after 5 1/2 years on the job, a Police Officer earns more than $125,000 a year, not including overtime or night differential.
The problem that the NYPD faces is the same problem everyone else faces. There are not enough qualified individuals who want the job, as they would have to deal with people like you every day, and lord knows, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Then again, you're older than dirt so you'd be aged out anyway. Thank god for small favors.
Don't worry about NYC. We'll survive just fine and you can continue living in the high mountains with Sasquatch and a family of methheads for neighbors.
