Solar Filter Found...
Found it today in my older gear cabinet...gave it once over and voila...
Left top side are clouds...
The idea of shooting the sun...tends to eclipse the actual images...

Word play is fun, but also says one appreciated the image.
Canisdirus can you give us information on the filter, plastic sheet, screw on, and brand. What were your camera settings? I did a quick early morning sunrise thru trees check with my screw on from "TEMU"** using my full spectra camera Nikon 1 N1 on auto and no image.
I recommend that one only do solar-sun photography if your camera has an articulating screen, any thing less one can burn your eyes. The Nikon 1 has a fixed screen, my eyes had an after image for quite a while... even the sun reflected in a water puddle is still too bright for our eyes... you are only allotted one pair. Camera Stores sell white canes hung on a shelf near the solar filters, good marketing.

Sure thing...
I have an older model Meade ETX 90...and I also purchased a filter designed for it specifically.
The image enclosed looks exactly like it except for the adjustment screws...
It ALMOST fits my Sony 200-600mm...just a mm off.
So it ends up if I use gaffers tape...the filter grabs enough of the rubber front of my lens.
Since the interior of the filter is rubber...it is snug...add the tape...cannot move it...that's good enough.
Shot set up...
Tripod Sony A7RIV Sony 200-600mm
Focal length 900mm (and cropped further)
Shutter 1/160
f/6.3
Iso 100
