gshearron, I like your photo a great deal, it tells a story and is a balance of dark left and bright right ... only suggestion is crop away the right side at the end of the little cluster of yellow flowers. The rest of the vegetation on the right adds nothing to the story and competes with the left side darkness; strive for a Yin-Yang photo composition.
Dark Bushes left Bright Ladies right. Yin-Yang, light vs dark negative space will create an image that makes a strong visual impact. By playing with composition and use of negative space, you can turn a regular photograph into a work of art.
