Do you think that the prices on the R3 and R5 will drop when Canon
introduces the R1?

No, the R1 is for a different market.

Yes, I believe so.
Nikon set a really tough price benchmark with the Z8 and Z9 cameras.
Kudos to Nikon.
And who knows what the R1 will actually have? Canon so far has been pretty tight lipped regarding the R1 and the R5 MII for that matter.
Rumors of a Sony a1 MII seem to be circulating as well.
Again with Nikon's aggressive pricing it will be interesting to see what Sony does as well.
What do you think, Buffalo?

You just missed a sale on the R5 at $3400. Possible will go on sale again at some point if your willing to wait & see.

I doubt Sony will drop their Flagship camera price, but time will tell.

I think they will announce next year and we will see it at the Olympics.

I look for the R1 to hit at around $9,000 or so.

R5 will start a creep down as the R5 II nears announcement.

For 9k it better be in a far higher class than anything currently available to justify that.
Including cfexpress type c for storage and a global shutter.
Otherwise it is just an incremental improvement that 9k will be hard to justify.
But who knows?.
Ps r5 is already price reduced.
