Yeah - - I know. Overpriced. But WHY ??
I've never known pristine USA Canon L Glass to lose value.
Have I been undone by Japanese imports / Gray Market stuff ? Or technology upgrades / updates ?
And the 7D is an excellent body for one wanting to upgrade from a Rebel.
If I can't get a reasonable price (? suggestions ?) they will stay on my shelf for my heirs to deal with.

The prices on KEH are lower. For an 18MP cropped body from around 2012, that ebay price might be double what people could pay elsewhere. The L-series lens seems about right, but when KEH again has this model for significantly less (about $650), you can see how the 'savvy' ebay shopper is not interested in this listing.

On ebay, there's no return policy and the risk of a poor purchase is higher. So, the prices should be even lower than KEH, not just matching.

I was afraid of that. Worth more to me on the shelf as I can't replace them for what folks are willing to pay.
Fortunately, I don't need the $$, and my grandkids may someday be interested. I'll pull them off eBay shortly.

Many sellers on eBay accept returns.

I owned the 7D. Nothing really outstanding about it.

I think Chg_Canon pretty much summed it up.

Except he was incorrect about ebay return policy.

I don't know how old your grand kids are, but by the time they might be interested in this camera it will probably be considered an antique. Not only that, they will be using their cell phones for photos and not have an interest in his type of camera. Like a lot of young people these days.

will

It's already happening. The iFoan 15 will be 'revealed' in 6 days. I was ready to pony up / trade-in my iFoan 13 for an iFoan 14 pro - but then learned about the 15. I'll have to compare camera capabilities between the 14 and the 15 - then decide. I don't often use my Canon 7D or 80D any more, preferring my RX10M3 for travels or other important events, and use my iFoan for just about everything else.

Asking price is one thing. What people are actually paying is another.
To determine this on eBay, always scroll down and check the 'Sold Items' box.
These will give you an idea of the average price they are selling for.

Canon EF 100mm F/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens

Canon EOS 7D 18.0 MP Digital SLR Camera

OK, so his camera and lens are really worth about $175 and $550. If he wants to forego $725 and enshrine them as personal totems thaz no problem for anyone else. There are already more than enough used SLR lenses and bodies available to outnumber buyers.

Who says it’s a problem for someone else?

Although snide, UID does make a point. $750 certainly isn't chump change, and by the time any of the grandkids MIGHT be interested in photography, using antique equipment probably won't hold much interest.
