Armed with only my Sony RX10M3 at 600mm equivalent - DARN - many shots, but none comparable to any of those taken by our apollo astronauts with their Hassleblads. Ohhh - to have Their Budget!
So - I took a few with different exposures and mixed them in Photomatix.
I was hoping to create some bizarre color effects - but I guess there's only so much you can do with a colorless moon. BUT - I think compared to the baseline, the composite is much more interesting.
Third - Fused, Cropped, enhancing any colors found
All images were cropped.
Original SOOC as JPG (I didn't fuss with the RAW) - too small for the download original to work (copy image if needed)
4-image SOOC JPG Photomatix Fusion

Fused JPGs with any colors fully boosted

I appreciate the kind words
All are very good, I particularly like the second one, 4-image SOOC JPG Photomatix Fusion, it looks like an astronaut shot it.

Thanks
It seems like there may soon be more chances for them to do just that
