Iphone 14Pro selfies

I have to take selfies when I deliver Flag certificates to house holds. When using the selfie stick and click on the remote button, my phone takes a video rather than a photo. While I can take a snapshot from the video to get my photo shot, I am looking for help to know why this is happening. Thank you Larry

I’m probably stating the obvious, but make sure you haven’t inadvertently selected video when you mount the phone on the selfie stick. It’s really easy to do that. The other thing is to check the owner’s manual for the selfie stick to see if there’s some sort of setting that will cause the phone to take a video.

Is it taking a real video or is it using LIVE mode which is actually a very short video clip. When you view the image/video in your camera roll does it say LIVE in upper left hand corner of the image? If this is the case, make sure LIVE button is not on before you take the photo. Tap the button and it will put a slash through it. Let me know if this is the case.

Thanks Fstop12 and Jimmy T for responding!!! I have turned off LIVE and when using the selfie stick, the remote button on the Bluetooth system still selects MOV on the Iphone 14Pro. I use MLV to take a snapshot of the Mov as it is paused on the laptop screen. MVL has it's on problems as the screen snapshot is saved as Jpeg but rotated upside down.
I can fix these problems to get a useful photo BUT just a hassle. The stick is useful but the remote WIFI is crap. I got what I paid for. Again thanks

Technology is a PIA sometimes. Hope you find a stick that works the way it's supposed to.
