I went out this morning to shoot the decorated ceramic horses in a nearby tow. When I began processing the sixty-four shots, I was surprised that my processing was limited. Then I remembered the Reset I did a few days ago. I had forgotten to set the camera back to raw. Oh, well.
Because of good fortune, the pictures turned out fine. I'll post some later.

I have set a couple of user modes or whatever they call them; the one I use for the tabletop stuff for my wife's jewelry is set to manual mode, jpeg only. Every time I shoot a landscape or something, I forget to change the mode and get a bunch of junk before I catch it. I blame it on anything except my inability to concentrate...

I have joined this club numerous times. Most recently I was with my camera club taking photos for an annual celebration. I was using two different cameras each with a different focal length lens. One I had used for a couple quick pics I was posting and had set it to jpeg and medium resolution and smaller size. I forgot to reset to RAW and full resolution and size. It all worked out, the photos were acceptable for use.
You are not alone out there.
I used to shoot everything in raw. My wife bought a camera and I told her to shoot in jpg for a while and then shoot in raw and see which she liked better. Her jpgs were so good that she never changed to raw, and I switched and began shooting everything in jpg. No regrets.
Your jpeg photos couldn’t have been good or even adequate. Everyone knows that only raw photos can be made into good ones. Or at least that’s what I’ve learned here.
Good evening Jerry, today is Thursday, August 30th, it is about 9:15 PM.
WELCOME to the SMC. Your new member kit is on its way to you. Membership levels and associated dues can be found in the "Welcome New Member Phamplet."

Yes, that true, but I didn't want to admit it.
I thought it was interesting that I knew right away they weren't raw when the degree of adjustment was so limited, especially the shadow and highlight adjustments.

As Past Master of the club I welcome you to our very inclusive membership, grin.

Aren't you the founder of that club?
On any new camera, I select my preferred default settings then save them as one of my camera's memory modes. When I pick up my camera for its first use of the day (especially if it's been
many days since its last use), I change it to any mode then back to that memory mode, resetting my camera to my preferences. Never again will I shoot a fleeting rainbow at ISO 6400 while wondering why my shutter speed is so high (I did that many years ago, which is what prompted my ussing a memory mode for my default settings).
The problem is that you told us that you got run over by a baby carriage. Not cool. Had you told us that you were in an altercation with a bear, five guys at the bar or a half dozen love starved women attacked you, now that would have been cool. Selective lying won’t change stupid mistakes, but it can cover them up and even improve your standing.

I shoot in both jpg and RAW -- storage is cheap. And although camera-rendered jpegs are fine for snapshots, I often want to do something more, so I need the RAW files.
Of course your wife (and you, and any of us) would prefer the jpegs to unprocessed RAW files, but I usually prefer my processing to that of my camera.
