A very melancholy day for me....

I've been trying to get things working as best as I can. Several nights of flawless runs and meridian flips, I thought I had it done.
Then last night the mount didn't flip by itself (again), so I went out and corrected it.
But I am having successes with other things. those of you who know me and have help me tremendously along my way have seen me go from a dolt, to a finer dolt at this fun Astrophotography challenge.
I decided so very long ago as I struggled with my first mount to call my location after my buddy who spent countless nights in the dark protecting me from odd smells like skunks, and noises like rats in the bushes with his warning barks.
Well I had several successes today stacking my recent captures, so I decided to try my hand at a new video with 3 new gatherings, and one old single I found rooting around.
I decided it was time to offer up a tribute to Sleepydog, Speedy, who we lost 07-31-2021. He was our last dog, as the wife cannot bare the thought of losing another pet. And she's pretty right, when her first husband passed away he left Charlie, a cow dog, to their daughter. And neither of us want to burden Family by orphaning another dog.
I buried Speedy in his backyard, in an elevated planter bed he used to love to jump up in and run and chase any lizards in his sunning spots. Then settle in for a sun bath over looking his yard.
Yeah, still Black and White. Except for Speedy near the end.
Put up on my Youtube channel, for one Grand Daughters friends who apparently have become fans.

Best viewed in Full Screen. Ava cut a rose and placed it on the stone over Speedy's grave. Later we got a proper marker for him. I told Chase, a Grandson, that when we are gone to collect his headstone and take it with him. Officially, Speedy was Chase's dog that lived at Grandma's. But Speedy was my buddy the rest of his life.
Enjoy the pictures.

I'm sure Speedy liked the tribute.

"He was our last dog, as the wife cannot bare the thought of losing another pet."
Yup, it is hard losing a pet but we've always seemed to acquire a few more when one passes on... We've got six wonderful mutts at present, everywhere from nine months to 12 years old. I'm not too sure if I could live without a few dogs to keep me hiking and going for my daily walk. Two them were with me last night in the pasture when I was shooting the Blue Moon.

Oh, I would love to have more dogs, I'd like to rescue old dogs someone discarded to a shelter. Just to give them dignity in their last years.
If I find myself alone in this world, that is something I'd like to do.
I've even entertained the idea of doing volunteer work at our local shelter. But afraid it might break my heart even more.

I was pleased that the few images came out so clear and sharp with no processing other than stacking them. I don't know when or where the one stray comet was taken, but threw it in there.
Thanks for viewing!

I can relate to what you're going through .Everyone of my dogs from real young to the present has broke my heart when they pass. Squirt {rescue that had been in the shelter too long , they were going to euthanize him and I told them no your not! Squirt is going home with me !} passed 3 years ago after giving me 8 of the best years going through 3 surgeries by my side with licks and cuddles it tore me up pretty bad when he passed, I still have Cosmo my Astro dog . Cosmo has age on him and we just like sitting in my CUMFY chair get his rubs while I watch data come in and whatever college football or basketball game is on or movie that's worth watching. We do love our pets Sonny and all we can do is make their life better. bwana, those are the cutest dogs.
