Old lenses with no auto focus capability (except for one "D" lens which needs a motor in the body), is it fair to describe these as "legacy lenses"? Some are "Nikon" and some are "Nikkor". Respond PM.
What lenses are you selling

I didn't realize that some Nikon lenses are not Nikkor.

Bill, just quoted what is inscribed on the lens itself
Davey, Each series before autofocus had a name. "legacy" is a bit broad. The key ones were ais, ai and pre-ai. Armed with a photo or serial number a potential buyer could figure it out.

That's the best way to identify them. I was probably shooting Pentax when the 'Nikon' lenses were popular.

The "E" series lenses were very popular back in the day. A lot of experienced hobbyists and even some pros sought them out because of the excellent images they produced. They were inexpensive lenses and made from lighter materials than the standard line of lenses but apparently Nikon didn't skimp on the glass.

Nikon "E" lenses were some of my favorite. Lightweight, inexpensive, and very good optically.
