Zucchini can be prolific in late summer.
Friends don't let friends grow zucchini.

We used to plant about 250 feet of zucchini, three plantings per year.
And here’s a tip: plant yellow zucchini. It tastes the same as green zucchini and doesn’t hide as effectively so you don’t get the huge ones.
Years ago we were vacationing in the quiet, arty town of Mendocino on the California coast. We stopped by the small grocery store and commented on it being the kind of place where you didn't need to lock your car.
The clerk immediately and emphatically corrected us. "You have to lock your car, or your neighbor's going to fill your back seat with zucchini!"

Saw a sign at a farm. “Free zucchini with each kitten…..or vica versa.
I bought tomato plants at a farm stand back in the '80s and they threw in 2 yellow zucchini plants. We planted those at the end of the garden. In a few weeks they took over half the garden. Before work there would be fruit about 5" long. When we got home from work they were over a foot long and not very edible. 5" zucchini are very edible.
