My daughter, Lisa has graduated with her Master’s in Music Education. She graduated from SUNY Fredonia. While she was auditioning to Queens College we met a lovely teacher who recommended my daughter try out for Fredonia University. She did but was hesitant since it was on the other end of New York State.
Now seven years later she has her first teaching job. It is with the St. Bernard’s Catholic Academy. After all those years, my daughter plays 12 musical instruments. Her favorite and mine as well is a bassoon. It’s deep woody tones are very creamy and will render any music into your favorite as well. Her talents extend to aural theory and can hear a song on the radio and pick up any of her instruments including keyboard and repeat the song from memory. Please enjoy!
Congratulations to her. And to you for a nice image.

Congratulations to your lovely daughter on her fine education and subsequent job. Your family should be very proud of her. My mother graduated from Fredonia and it also was on the other side of NYS for her although she grew up in the Lockport area.
A friend of mine, deceased now, was in charge of the music department of a college in Pocatello. The last time I had lunch with him he brought his bassoon into the restaurant. I asked why he didn't leave it locked in his truck. He explained it goes with him always since he paid $14,000 for it. WOW!!! I thought to myself. I have paid that much for one rifle but not for something that just makes beautiful music. Pretty soon we are talking real money here.
Best wishes to your daughter.

That level of musical talent is certainly exceptional especially to someone like me who’s still trying to master “Heart and Soul” on the piano. Her future is bright. Congratulations to your daughter on her success and to you for helping her master her talents👍
She certainly has an amazing talent. My wife is a pianist and was a church organist for years. I can't even play chopsticks on her piano.
best of luck to your daughter ... always liked the bassoon sound, but never could get any double reeded thing to go (oboe, etc.)
It's so great to know that young people are taking music seriously enough to read and play on multiple instruments. I'm sure your daughter will give a love of music to her students that will last their whole lives. Thanks for the photo.
Beautiful instrument. I would love to hear her play.
You must have a recording of her work. How about adding a link
Where she gets the talent from is surely not me. I can’t walk down a city street playing a kazoo without tripping. I can’t chew gum either. Her talent fills my heart and my soul. She loves double reeds and for someone like her she can belt out a tune on a trumpet and trombone without effort.
Her principle instrument is the bassoon which is longer than she is tall. But don’t be fooled by her size, when she plays any instrument you are amazed.

She must be one of those music geniuses what with having mastered 17 instruments
And smart too
I can only hum or whistle
Thank you so much. It was a pleasure to hear the two playing so beautifully together.

My daughter played the oboe in HS & College. She characterized the double reed instruments as "An ill woodwind that nobody blows good."
