A little different look this morning. This is a Black Iguana from Costa Rica. When we travel to CR, we like to fly into Liberia, a city in the northern portion of the country. One of the reasons we like to fly into this city (rather than San Jose, the capital) is that we stay our first and last night in the country at the El Sitio Hotel. Great restaurants, nice rooms, right price, but most importantly about 3-4 acres grounds that are filled with birds and other creatures. This is one of those "other creatures". This is a male in full breeding colors. Very aggressive, not only to other lizards, but he was not sure about me getting too close. This lizard is about 30-36" from nose to tip of tail so I could not get his entirety in focus. I took 10 images, each one focused a little further back on his body. Then, in Photoshop, all the images were stacked together to give one image with the entire body in focus. Not a perfect job, but I still like the look.
Shot with a Canon R5, 600 mm f/4.0 lens. Way too much lens, but I was attempting to photograph small warblers when this guy ambled up. What can you do? 1/320 SS, USI 2000, f/10.
Great shot of a BEAUTIFUL critter!!! Download is incredible!!!
