Is pepper spray or bear spray legal in Canada?
Pepper spray is an illegal weapon in Canada, but bear spray or dog spray is allowed to fend off wild animals and can't be used on humans. These sprays all use the same substance called oleoresin capsicum, which is derived from chili peppers. But the bear spray is the much stronger of the two, is OK!
USA: All 50 states and the District of Columbia have authorized the use of pepper spray for self-defense. Some states restrict the use of pepper spray to self-defense purposes.
