Printing question

I have the Canon Pro 200 printer, perhaps some other Hoggers have the same printer. I want to print, mat, and frame some of the photos I have taken. My question is, using my printer, can I print the name of the butterflies on the bottom edge of the mat board itself? If so, can you please direct me to information on how to do it? It is regular mat thickness, not double matted. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Does the mat go through the printer?????
I think for most printers they will not because of the thickness of the mat.

I was hoping that the mat would go through the printer but am leery of a jam.

I think it won't even feed. WAY too thick.

Anything you print with dye based inks will fade.

This printer has no facility to handle thick media. Maximum paper weight is 380 gsm.

Print on adhesive backed paper, or on treated transparent acetate.
Used to get products from Office Depot; no idea who sells what now.
or Print on anything you can/want and adhesive it on. Properly applied Rubber Cement lasts a long time.
Back in the day I was involved with art shows, no one printer printed on mats. The fine artists did calligraphy.

Some of the better Epsons will print on mat board up to 1.5mm thick. They have a "straight through" paper path and an adjustment lever that accounts for the thickness.

Rubber cement is NOT an archival adhesive and should never be used on any part of an assembly going into a frame under glass.

Agreed. The Epson printers can also be used to print Direct-To-Plate Photogravure plates.
