NB, the heat issue:

An articulated LCD screen can be a good way to dissipate the higher heat levels generated in a camera doing video. Flipping the screen away from the camera body helps. An articulated screen feature should be an important consideration in choosing a camera intended for video.

Thanks...I never thought about heat. I always expected the battery to be the limiting factor.

I've never had a problem with P&S or bridge cameras overheating. I'll have to try an endurance test with my Z990 to see how long it goes.
