Those laws work just fine if enforced.
Immigration reform for democrats is no border security period.
I am tired of that vague term. What specifically do you propose for your reform and how does it secure our border from invasion outside of just making invasion legal?

No not true !! It is the law “ as written “ that has generated this massive backlog of legal asylum seekers.

The laws as written allows what is going on .
The issues is “ immigration “ not the border.
Right now America is virtually the only country that calculates the number of temporary work visas based on politics and not need.
We have thousand of jobs ready needing workers . These immigrants see that. But because of pure politics we won’t give temporary work visas . As long as there is a need and an opportunity they are going to come . A wall is not going to stop that . Time to act smartly .

The notion of 'comprehensive immigration reform' is laudable but the ideological differences between republicans and democrats on how to achieve this is a huge stumbling block.

Isn’t that what we pay congress to do??

Fix immigration- work visas- easy more clearly defined non contradictory asylum laws.

The only real issue that must have compromise us the issue of those already here.

Of course, that's what we pay congress to do. But you know that compromise on any major legislation seems to be a pipe dream these days. Polarization started decades ago. I recently read where we are further apart now than any time in the past 50 years.
