Two Spiders

While looking at my neighbor's flower/weed patch of ground cover I happened to see what I thought might be a hovering fly or type of bee. With my Sony RX10IV set to 600mm I looked through the viewfinder and saw it was a spider on his web. It was tough to see with the naked eye but the Sony picked it up pretty easily. I am guessing it was maybe 10 feet from me. I took some photos, walked toward the other end of the long line of flowers and came back. About two feet from where the one spider was, there was another one but looking much larger because it was much closer, maybe 6 feet. This one was wrapping what I think is a fly for a take out meal. I hope you like these photos.

The first two are of the second spider with prey. The last four are of the first spider.

I THINK the spider is an orb weaver but could be 100% wrong.

So I guessed correctly, it IS an orb weaver? Aren't I smiling like a Cheshire Cat now?

Thank you sippy. Both spiders were a stretch for the lens in distance but proved to come out OK. I love seeing them with prey in their little hands/claws/paws, whatever.

Nice! I suggest marbled orbweaver. Up to you, but I'd never get tired of catching insects and tossing them in to see them do their thing. And it makes them happy, I suppose.

A marbled orbweaver. You're killin me here.

I hope you can detect the slight bit of sarcasm much like I gave my mom when she asked/TOLD me the 10th time to take out the trash.

Thank you for your comments. Always appreciated.
