Took a detour off the Hwy. to find relocate this old, one lane, truss bridge and the large Osprey/Eagle nest. Spent many fun days with our kids fishing and camping along this river...lots of fond memories.

Nice job! Love bridges!

Will be in Gardiner Sept 20-Oct 10 if you're out for a ride!

Beautiful, Jim! I was going to ask if it was still in use, then I saw that it is! It looks like it could use a coat of paint, just for the users confidence, if nothing else!
We just drove across the country on I-90. I lost count of the number of times that we crossed the Clark's Fork River!!

You were likely lost and driving in circles to begin with!

Your co-pilot was napping.

Actually, you were probably the co-pilot, so I take it all back!

Gorgeous shots, but is it a truss bridge because of some kind of hernia caused by supporting a giant locomotive

Thanks Dave, and I will let you know about those dates. They currently look doubtful as my AMD has taken a small turn for the worse. Getting shots in my right (dominant) eye and hope to alleviate some of the damage and constrain the progress. Will be a few more months before I know how the treatment is progressing. Focusing through the viewfinder is hit and miss as the cloud is in the center and large. My left eye has "dry" AMD and the prescription has changed for it...just got new glasses delivered today so will see how it works out.

That is a hoot, Chief...had the same experience driving to Coeur d Alene recently. It was an old bridge 40-50 years ago when we were first in the area...glad it is still available for us old wuss's!!
