Dear Ricardo...

I too like to make new amigos who also enjoy photography. I noticed that you are holding a Nikon camera with an interesting telephoto lens attached. I would love for you to share with me the age and specs on your beautiful "oldy-but-a- goody" lens and what you enjoy photographing with it.

I have been taking pictures of the indoor professional soccer team, the Wichita Wings, in my hometown of Wichita, Kansas for forty-three years.) The attached picture was taken at a tryout session in 2021.)

I went from a Canon camera to a Sony A7R4 camera about four years ago. My name is Don Marler and I am eighty-one years young. I go buy "Shooter41"on the Ugly Hedge Hog photo group. I hope to become friends with you.

The lens in the photograph is a Tamron 18-400mm that I purchased around four years ago after a neighbor/photographer recommended it. Before that I carried two Nikons, one with a short lens and the other with a long lens. After acquiring the Tamron 18-400mm I only carry that Nikon D7000 with that lens because it covers pretty much everything I want to shoot. I would love to have a more powerful telephoto, but am not going to invest in one because my photography is a hobby (addiction?). Nice to meet you, Don Marler.

The welcome mat is out, the coffee is hot and we anxiously await some photos from you. I hope you enjoy this forum as much as we do. If you stick around long enough, you WILL get some snarky remarks, but just laugh at them and don't slow down for a second...keep posting. There are a lot of good photographers here who are ALWAYS kind, understanding and eager to help.
