Jim via Shea shows us that IR is not a simple "shick razor... push-pull click click" approach to photography. Go to the article for a fuller explanation. Thanks from all for the reference site.

I have a Nikon 1 J1 that I converted to full spectra. A labor of love, no, it was the determination to get it right. The thing I learned was that no extra protection was needed for the sensor... it has it own glass wall to the outside world. That glass can be cleaned with the professional swabs available on Amazon or at a much lower cost on my favorite/reliable, TEMU.

Here is a look at the Lightroom Profile Browser to see the selection of the 6 Profiles I selected at the start of the thread.

Notice also that there is a slider called "Amount" that controls the intensity of the selected profile. If I were to move the slider to the right, the profile's color becomes more intense, or to the left, it becomes less intense.

Not shown here is the temperature offset I first used which moved the temperature and tint sliders to where they weren't pegged allowing me to fine tune the colors seen.

Adding a second screen shot show the Temperature and Tint sliders that I had mentioned. The Temperature offset moved these sliders to where they could be used.

As Jim demonstrates, IR becomes more sophisticated as we grow into it.

The solar filter test results in today's UHH as we would expect is perhaps a 950 nm... but what % transmission. Perhaps we need two regular ones? No, wrong... " we find that a filter with a transmittance of 0.0032 percent" so it is best to spend $14 on Amazon and buy a 6x6" solar telescope film and make a filter for our cameras.
