Seems a long while back, I purchased this AI-s Nikkor off of the Bay, and it arrived in near mint condition. However, as nice as it was, it didn’t have the rubber focus ring on it. I was a bit upset, but quickly realized that it is only a cosmetic issue. I did however try to find a replacement online through several sites, even Nikon’s site, to no avail. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to list a number of Nikkors for sale on the Bay, and the 35 was one of them. While it was listed, someone contacted me to let me know that they had the same issue and had found a replacement from an ebay seller in China. They sent me a link for the ring, and I placed the order. It arrived this afternoon, and it is a perfect fit. I am quite pleased as the lens looks so much better now!
So here is a picture from the garden, shot at 2.8
The vignetting is due to having the lens hood from my 105/2.8 on it

Well done, I had a similar problem with my Nikkor 18-140. The rubber ring grip also needed to be replaced. I got the last one in existence form Nikon Australia...
There's a nice richness to the colors rendered.
