Thanks for looking and for the vote, Jack. We were trying to spot a sloth and spent a lot of time looking up. That shot of the canopy reminded me of lace.

That looks like a male papaya tree & the second an Achuete.
Keep a lookout for a sandpaper tree and be amazed that such thing exists.
It really is sandpaper growing on trees. We used to clean blackened pots and school tables with them.
It's a toss up for me between the first one and the last one.
