Questions about Manfrotto tripod

Greetings,

I just purchased a used but like new Manfrotto 055xPROB tripod with a Kirk BH-1 ball head for $100. Seemed like a pretty good deal. So there are just a couple of things I have questions about but I cannot find a manual that I can download for this thing. Really surprised that Manfrotto doesn't offer PDF manuals or at least I can't find them on their site and the ones on line are just ad schemes. I know, what's rocket science about a tripod? Yeah I get it.

There are two features on the spider head between the leg mounts that I don't know what they are or their intended function. One is just a cylindrical protuberance with a negative cylindrical cutout on the top and the other is like a loop/clip that is loose that sort of looks like the R458.39 in the diagram. The other thing is shown as R190.427 and it is plastic. Thanks

The 190.427 is a clip used on any of the legs of the tripod, it can hold a power cable out of the way and the Allen wrench to adjust or tighten parts.
Not sure where R458.39 is in the diagram.

Never used it on mine but have assumed it's for hanging something from, weight or perhaps strap?

I found https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/776086-REG/manfrotto_r190_427_8mm_leg_lock_wrench.html
by searching google for what is manfroto part number R190.427 used for.

It appears that one stores it on one of the tripod legs, so it's handy when needed.

The R458.39 appears to come up as a strap hook. but no idea where or how to use it.

The 190 is used to loosen/tighten the nuts on the leg shaft clamps. Not sure about the 458 but it is either a mounting loop for attaching a carry strap (in which case you should be able to find another position somewhere for the other end of the strap) OR it might be used to attach a strap (or a weight bag) to the bottom of the center shaft to hold a weight for balancing the tripod in windy conditions.

Hook can be used to hang a bean bag or anything that would add weight to stabilize the tripod in windy situations or whatever.

Spartan Photo Center, Spartanburg SC might be able to assist you. They are a "go to" resource for Manfrotto.

190.427 is a wrench for tightening the leg locks. The other part might be to attach a strap. It's identified as an assy loop. If you Google just the part number and nothing else, they come up at the top of the responses.

According to the information that came with my Manfrotto, R458.39 is a hook for hanging ballast to hold the tripod steady if it is otherwise not totally solid. The suggestions on R190.427 being a wrench to adjust tension on the leg clamps are correct.
