Appears to be a red flower and some green background. IIRC another Hogster already has that covered, as seen below.

Awwww ... truth pains ? Maybe post your image litter in the Gallery where viewers are required, by law, to reward you with trite little comments like "Great capture" and "Nice work", regardless of what lens you claim to have abused.

But here, in the main discussion group, a viewer is free to call a spade a spade ... just another red flower on just another fuzzy green backdrop. I guarantee that if you take it to the Gallery you will gather the mandated accolades for your "art". Surely that must be in your best interest.

Below is an example by rv8striker, from the Gallery. You can look it up and see that it has garnered endless little quips of praise there, even tho it was lacking any mention as to the lens. Dont believe me ... go and see !

Gallery viewers loooooove flowers.

Photo Gallery Post.

It would most certainly be kindly received there and will garner many positive quips from the Gallerys dutiful regulars.

Beats me why some Hawgsters persist in posting greeting card images in the main discussion section where theyll run a real risk of getting an honest reaction. Posting it in the Gallery guarantees a comfortable version of the "home team advantage".

Interesting info (for me, at least). I honestly did not think to post in the "Main Discussion Section". I thought that to be for.... Discussion!

I'll bite..... and throw this in for an honest opinion..... (Personally, I'm not into flower images - I take them for The Wife... she appreciates the effort for her. Me? Maybe in B&W I might likey! Her, not so much.

So... it's red flower day on the old forum!

A tip for the OP. If you come across another lovely flower and want to post it in THIS section you have to accompany it with a technical question or start a "DISCUSSION". Some popular questions are as follows:

I this sharp enough, Should I have used a differet lens, Is it over-processed? Guess how I distorted the background?... of course, tell everyone what gear you used (????), and please include all the pertinent exposure information.

Now, if you want copious quantities of clicks, write that you are dissatisfied with the sharpness and are thinking of investing in a multi-thousand-dollar lens and ask for opinions on the brand and model.

If you really want to ignite a fire, post a version where IA was used to FAKE a background and tell everyone that you shot that image with your cellphone!

If you shot the image with a Nikon, say something bad about a Canon, and you will garner 10 pages of "comments"!

If you just want to share an image with others, post it in the "Gallery". If yoy WANT a critique, post it the the "Critique" section. There are some nice folks that will provide an honest and helpful critique void of snark and sarcasm. It is true that some NICE folks will compliment poorly crafted images becses they like the subject or just want to be polite. Nome folks are nasty and will negatively criticize a well-crafted image because they don't like the style, matter, or think the subject is "ugly"!

Some folks, on this form, are advanced amateurs, and pros and really are in the know. Ohter are just rank amateurs who just enjoy "taking pictures". If some of the latter group gets or sees a decently exposed image they are happy and will compliment the "capture" or whatever- nothing wrong about that. Not everyone is a master technician or artist on an aficionado of fine-art photography.

There is virtually no moderation on this forum. There may be a few algorithms that transfer the odd misplaced post or detect foul language. You might say the forum is "self-policed" so, I do not like to call people "trolls". A more polite word is "vigilantes" or self-appointed moderators. They paTROLL the forum and inform folks of their mistakes or misdeeds. Some will direct "violators" to the "proper" section and some will respond with sarcastic remarks, personal attacks, and negative opinions and criticisms about the forum and anyone who disagrees with them.

PS. This red flower was in a concrete planter outside the grocery store where I was shopping. I do not have my Phase I converted Mamiya RZ or my becoming unpopular DSLR, a heavy tripod, and macro lens in my pocket, So, I grabbed my cellphone and shot it. When I got home, I processed a second shot from a different angle on an AI app on the same phone- that I was experimenting with and messed around with the image. It's called having fun!

Sorry...my bad. I hit the wrong label...fire away...don't mind at all.

But my original response to the troll stands.

His first critique...before editing it away was...someone already posted a red flower.

To the rest of the normal folks...I'd like opinions...why not?

The lens is interesting...There is a distinctiveness to it...yet can be elusive.

Opinion.

IMO, this image is way over-processed (unless that was your objective - to make it Abstract Expressionism). Prolly dial that back a bunch and set the crop for a bit less greenery around.
Only by seeing the original could one make a real assessment. Again, jus my opinion!
