Just thought I would pass this along. By marking it with a black sharpie, it gives me a quick visual reference point as to if the mounting screw has worked itself loose a bit.

The black mark is a good idea. At a glance, one can see if the screw is loosening.

Good idea. Many fasteners on cars (and other things) have a dab of red paint on them. I suspect that's to indicate they have been torqued.

Yeah, I guess so.

Another great use for what machinists call "Match Marks".

Definitely a requirement when working on engines.

I thought everyone did that.

I happen to use nail polish cuz ordinary marker easily wears or rubs off. Nail polish dries very quickly.

These narrow nuts tend to work loose.

No one in the house uses nail polish, but I do have a few bottles of car touch-up paint. It comes in handy.

I dont borrow the nail polish. I buy it for purpose. Primary "crayola" colors plus plain black and white are cheap enough.

(I dont have any car touch up paint, but did touch up my car with nail polish.)

Great tip but I still don't like single attachment points.
