Here's a good word for you, Tom. RETROTORT. Which is a witty remark that one thinks of when it is too late. In this case, I was lucky.

Fantastic, Mel. That word is going into my vocabulary immediately.

There are other ways to the top. My HS buddies and I climbed up in 1964 - and again with our ~10 yr old sons in ~1978. Up Tuckerman’s Ravine; down over the Lionshead. One day hikes. Glorious! I have Brownie photos somewhere.

The days of me even trying such a feat are long gone. It looks like quite a few folks have hiked it.

Beautiful spot at the top if clear. Remember to tour the Hotel when finished at the top. Great local and national history. My avatar was a great shot of the steam train (once a day now, the other engines are diesel) leaving the Base Station.

The railway is great fun. Save your engine next time and ride the rail! I used to ski right across the street on the backside of Mt Washington. I saw it every day and the cold would fly down to my mountain. She is a beauty though.

If I get back there again, it will definitely be the train for me.
