The whole process was a pain, but this is the last indignity. It took long enough to get the check in the mail. They put the letter in telling me the check was enclosed but forgot the check.
I've had two bad experiences with SF in the past and now, I don't have any use for them.
They always have their hand out until you need them and then they act like they don't know you.

But aren’t they the good hands people well, it looks like when they say the good hands people I guess they’re referring to them selves with their hands out taking your money. You’re not the first person that’s had the same problem with them.
Bruce.

No they are not the "Good Hand People". They are the "Good Neighbor".
The "Good Hand People" are Allstates.

Oh yes I remember now thank you for clearing this up. I don’t have either one so I guess the good neighbor policy doesn’t mean much.
Bruce.
I have been with SF over 50 years, no problems. Car, House or other wise. I had to file a claim on my rider policy for my camera. I had the check in a week.
No problem here with State Farm either. A lot depends on the agent.

Exactly. I had State Farm about 35 years ago and I was involved in a real big mess and they were right there for me. I was very impressed with them but then again it was a family agent that took care of my parents and so he was very good but the attorneys that they used were great.

I have State Farm for auto and home for over 30 years and have nothing bad to say. They have called me 2x on a homeowners claim to see if the settlement was enough for the repair. It was a fair settlement to begin with.

You are right. Now that I am up and awake, coffee in hand. I look back through the years at my experiences and others with SF, Alstate, and other others. many factors involved, yes the agent, the customer, the situation, etc.. etc.
I have had heard both mostly good but some bad from everyone.
I have had Progressive for years now and they have been very good to me except this past year they jacked up my policy cost over some bullshit excuse, but then I read many others here in town with other insurance companies they all went up too, some considerably more. I hope the OP gets his all straightened out.

It’s your local agent. My daughter worked for SF for several years and agrees…your agent.

Ditto. Likewise been with SF for over 50 years; no problem with either automobile claims or dropped camera claim.

I have had wonderful experience with SF, particularly with a house fire!

State Farm has changed the way they operate. Agents no longer have input into problems like they once did. They're no longer an intermediary. It's all done now through the claims service. The one thing agents can do is write up policies and change the policies. My wife and I have been with State Farm for 50 years ourselves and have stayed with them because of how they HAVE helped us in the past, but it's become a maze to get a claim processed anymore. I was willing to pay a higher premium with State Farm for better service, but we're not getting that any more. They were also going to go up on our homeowner's this year by $500. So, we're going to save $150,mo. on car insurance and $500 on our homeowners. That's a $2300 savings.
I have had 2 claims on two different cars in the last few months as well as one camera a couple of years ago all dealing with the claims department directly with no problems and quick handling of claims. All my agent did was to forward my call, but, as I have stated the claims were handled quickly with no issues.
