I'm not that impressed and I'm a Nikon shooter.

The idea of a Zf is intriguing to me because I have a Df, but I’ll have to wait until more information is available before I start to get excited.

Neither are the Z8 and Z9 made in Japan.
In fact no Z camera is made in Japan.
Tamron is also rebranding their lenses as Nikon lenses.
So what is the issue with the Zf?

I know that and it's the end of Nikon for me. The Z6 and Z7 (not the ii) were the last.

I would have been more impressed with a z equivalent to the D500. I would like to add a crop-sensor z camera that has better specs than the current z50 and zfc. While those are nice cameras capable of making good photos, they do not have the speed needed for wildlife photography, nor the eye tracking. Just think -- if they would come out with a z500 their new 180 - 600 lens would work as a 270-900. This would be impressive! I would much rather have had them work on this rather than add another FF camera to their mix. They now have the z5, z6ii, z7ii, z8, and z9, all with FF sensors -- why add still another zFF?

Boutique camera will sell very well to those who collect rather than shoot.
Look at the huge numbers here in UHH that will buy this camera.
I agree with you that Nikon thus far has ignored the APS-C format for serious photographers.
