I am making the assumption that this is a first year Harris Hawk. I may be wrong, but based on the behavior, the bird checking out a flying butterfly, I like to think it is a juvenile. I have regularly seen a pair in the area this was taken and make the assumption there was a nest close by. This bird put on a show for me and I will post other images in the future. Hope you enjoy.
