Reminiscing - Expressions of life

Cleaning up the renovation during my last vacation, my daughter showed me an old newspaper tabloid page with a question, excitement and confusion all rolled into one word- "Dada?".
Well,yes, that's your old man with his minute of fame...
For a moment it had me reminiscing.
We are just ordinary folks. Granted the family had rub shoulders with great individuals in a time or another but in ourselves, what will we leave behind? What will be my own contribution to the narrative before I forever sleep?
The oldest Roman bridge in Rome, Italy, still existing in its original state is Ponte Fabricio. I may not be a bloodline to its creator but it makes me wonder. If not for the cultural norms of our country, I would be using the same surname, and my grandfather do look like of a roman decent. tall, lean, sharp nose, thin jaw and wavy curly hair, he fits the image to a T.
Faber- the Latin word for "smith" which also mean craftsman / workman / artisan of his work is a virtue that strongly resonates in our lineage. Father owns a construction business as was his father before him and was an architect. A good one at it. Good enough to have an audience & dinner with queen Elizabeth.
To this day, my uncles and cousins are making a living in construction and making furnitures.
I too travelled a similar path, it was pencil, ink and paint for me.
Besides photographs, I think that is all I'll leave behind. Without a son, the bloodline and name I carry ends with my last breath.
To the world, an unknown artist leaves his efforts to create beauty and his wishes for all to live as one.
