The Gershwin piece was good but I preferred the Andre Kostelanetz version with Andre Previn playing piano. Still great music. Don't make them like that anymore!

Probably his best album. As a jazz enthusiast I am more partial to jazz piano and the late Bill Evans was the pianist in Miles Davis's sextet that backed him on this album.

You're talking about the album Kind of Blue, right? I'm with you on jazz piano. Oscar Peterson is a favorite.

Yes. Nice album but I am not really into horns. I studied jazz piano back in Los Angeles in the early sixties. Unfortunately my talent did not match up to my desires!. Probably should have taken up the guitar instead. Still jazz piano and jazz guitar are my favorites. I miss the days of the 60's and 70's when I used to hang out in piano bars.

The piano trio/quartet is probably my favorite, too. I don't like way-out horns, but Miles Davis and Dizzy do some nice things. Please post links to some of your favorites.

Regretably I have not built up such a list. Most of my music is on CDs or videos. Looks like I need to start researching YouTube.

Boy that is an oldie. I actually preferred the Jimmy Smith (with Wes Montgomery) version. Thanks for the links. I am starting to build up a library of YouTube jazz links thanks to you and others who have fed this link. Greatly appreciated. Always more fun to actually see people playing rather than just listen to CDs. I have converted all my old LPs to CDs. Took me awhile but was worth the effort.
Ciao

I just got Fourplay's new album "Esprit de Four" and was disappointed. They don't seem to have they same energy and drive as they did on their early albums.
