Baby Blue Jay

I believe this is the first time juveniles have visited the yard. They sat on the perches for considerable lengths. I hope they grow up less spooky than the usual adults I see.

It is hard to capture birds that hit and run. My reflexes are not what they used to be.

Hi Joe,
Very nice set of young Jay.
While we always have a couple of pairs of Jays around this is the first time that a young one came to the feeders. Also, young Nuthatches have been coming with their parents. Hope you get to see a young Red-headed woodpecker.

Nice pictures! Blue Jays are such beautiful birds. It's really fun to see them in the bird bath.

Thanks.

Yes I have seen young Red-headed, Red-bellied, Downy woodpeckers and perhaps even Hairy. Over the years I have accumulated 21,000 + bird images. Here is a Red-headed from a few seasons ago.
