"The exploding comet, known as 12P/Pons–Brooks, is currently approaching its closest point to Earth during its 71-year orbit through the solar system."

The comet 12P/Pons-Brook (12P) photographed on July 26, with the comet's "horns" clearly visible. The image was captured by the Las Cumbres Observatory as part of the Faulkes telescope Project. (Image credit: Comet Chasers/Richard Miles)

Don'cha just luuuv measurements like "skyscrapers" or "city size"? The city of King, NC is 6.1 sq. mi. New York City is 302.6 sq. mi., some 50 times larger! Fear mongering, anyone? (Not you, bcheary!) Maybe it's gone from "blood zells" to "fear sells"?

Sort of like hail. Hail is always the size of something else. Golf ball sized hail, quarter sized hail, etc. I used to live in King. It changes size from time to time.

Nice area. Kind of like Long Island, NY when I was growing up in the 60's, before NYC started encroaching.
