Question for iMac users

I'd like to use something like the VIVO VESA adapter to mount my 27" iMac to an adjustable arm so that I can move the computer into my workshop and get some use out of it again. Don't want to mount it to a wall as I hope to move house fairly soon.

Problem is that it weighs 21 lbs and apparently arms that can handle that weight are few and far between. One option would be an Egotron but at $205 it's a little rich for my blood for the intended purpose.

Does anyone know of a suitable 21lb-capable VESA arm at a less exotic price?

I've found two on Amazon - both promise to do the job, but I was hoping someone might have experience with these, or another appropriate heavy duty arm, and could recommend for or against.

The two are:

- Monoprice Heavy-Duty Single-Monitor Full-Motion Adjustable Gas-Spring Desk Mount for 32~49in Screen Computer Monitor Stand - Workstream Collection @ $90

- Mount-It! Ultrawide Monitor Desk Mount, Single Monitor Mount for Heavy Monitors Up to 35 Inch and 33 Lbs, VESA 100, 200 mm Compatible, Height Adjustable Gas Spring Arm 2 x USB 3.0 and Audio Port @ $110

Wow, Small world. I have one that used to hold my 27” IMac many years ago. It is a desk mount, and as I recall the weight of the IMac and the limit of the mount were just about exactly even. It has been sitting in my attic for many years. Make me an offer, and be advised this is large and heavy.

Thanks - I've sent a PM.

Someone not far from me has an arm available although he has to check to see if it is heavy duty enough to handle the weight of the iMac.
