Do any members have any advice about SAD lighting
I was in Maplins, they are doing a SAD lightbox for about £44. Don't know much about it but seems to have all the certificates etc. I think that's a good price as the exact same one is £10 more at Amazon.
Best of luck, only a few more months of winter!
I have a daylight lamp over my work area. Expensive but it stopped me giving up in the winter months whilst doing my degrees. Still very worth while.

A high wattage Halogen bulb (300 Watt work light) does it for me and costs a lot less that the 44 pounds although it is more expensive to operate than the LED SAD lights.
I am also wary of LEDs and fluorescent sources as they may not have a continuous spectrum even though the look like daylight.
This might be a very stupid question, but is there any way to use the histogram/ white balance/ grey card etc. to assess the output of various lamps.
I bought some "warm" leds for the kitchen that seem cruelly harsh, but I have no way of arguing about it.
