Maine Coast Travel -- Notebook Spoken For -- Planning Notes Available

So, I have spent the past 9 mo. researching interesting photo ops (some with suggestions for lens FL, time of day, etc.), and strategic lodging for a trip up the Maine coast from the Manchester, NH, airport to Acadia NP during peak fall color. The focus is on lighthouses, coastal fishing villages, fishing shacks, and coastal landscapes. We are seniors, so the plans do not include extensive hiking. Lodging has to be quality bedding and cleanliness...found some good ones. My notebook is organized by each day with a Google map showing destination highlights and mileage for that day.
My travel buddy of the past 10 years has just suffered pulmonary embolisms and will be healing over the next 3-6 mo. and will no longer be flying. If anyone is considering such a trip and would be interested in my notebook pages, I would be happy to mail them out. Might save some time in streamlining an itinerary.

Sorry your travel buddy is unable to join you on your Maine Coast adventure. Maine is my favorite section of the east coast. I usually stay in Southwest Harbor when I visit. It gives me easy access to Echo Lake, Long Pond, Hadley Pond, and Bass Harbor Light. All of which are especially beautiful in the fall. Plus, it is a short ride to Bar Harbor NP and the wonderful carriage roads. It is very generous of you to offer your photo trip research. Loved your Flickr page. Hope you have a wonderful, productive adventure. 😊

I guess I am old-school--I carry a notebook with maps and images I can flip through as I travel. But I can send you the links to the references I used if you like.

The notebook has been spoken for. I could email the internet links I used as references, though, if you wish.

The notebook is already spoken for, Archiefamous. I didn't anticipate so much interest in it, so I may try to do a post with the links and suggestions for routing. Keep an eye out for it as it may take a bit of time to put together.

That would be great if you don’t mind. Thank you, I really appreciate it. Keep shooting!

Southwest Harbor is a good option for Acadia, since it also keeps Thuya, Asticou, and Somesville bridge easily accessible. The automobile museum is an interesting stop to make on that side of the island, as well. Sounds like you are still doing a lot of hiking! I had been to Acadia and the coast previously, but I won't be going back now that Sam can't travel.

Glad you enjoyed peeking at my Flickr pages (where I had recently added a few re-edits from a past trip to Maine on the first page). Would have loved the opportunity to photograph along the coast with my current equipment and improved editing software, but I'm grateful for all the trips I have gotten to make over the past 20 years.

I am traveling up to Maine in October, haven’t done nearly the research you have. I’d love to see the links when available. Jodevoy1@outlook.com. Sorry your plans fell through. Maybe next year?

I will try to hurry up with posting the links. I think Maine is off the table for me. Sam has been my travel buddy for a long time and I wouldn't attempt the trips without him. We are trying to come up with photography trips that can be done from his home base in Mississippi now.

Okay. I haven't figured out the best way to do it, though. I may create a Word doc and post the file or add links here on UHH; or, I may just make a list of links and scan the maps, then share to the emails that have been given. But I will get back with you.

Have been on several Fall trips to Maine coast. Love the Beachmere in Ogunquit.
