This is the second of two posts. You know this by now!!! Please look at "Nadam Mongolia 1" before checking out this one.
The race is over and everyone now mills around, eats, plays and shops for the next few hours.
Mongolians love to wear fedoras. The guy second from the left is one of their famous riding coaches. As it happened, he was the coach of the winner, and three others who came in among the first ten.
The winning coach in his ger. (yurt)
Cleaning up, packing, and getting ready to leave.
After riding, billiards almost seems to be Mongolia's national sport. I'm guessing that hot dog eating contests rank at or near the bottom. (They do have them there.)
A disassembled ger. The guy is putting the top-piece in its place. Two hours to disassemble. Four hours to reassemble. Much more comfortable than a tent.
Can't go anywhere without our prayer flags.
Stragglers bringing up the rear. Just the fact that they completed the course is an honor.
Gathering up strays. This guy seems to be about as old as I am and look at him go. That's beautiful.
More strays. This could be a scene from some old John Wayne roundup movie, but one made in Mongolia.
Their horses look awfully small or are the men big?
Nice set of photos--enjoyed.

Mongolian horse ARE small. It's evolutionary, and makes them more suited to survive in Mongolia's harsh, sparse, environment.
Fascinating & interesting post!
Nice set. Looks like fun place
Judging by how full that pickup is, it must have taken a herd of horses to haul a yurt from one place to another.
Excellent documentary, Mel!

Actually ... I haven't seen this but I was told ... it's all usually schlepped around by just two camels.
